DESIGN ARCHITECT & FOUNDER

A founding partner at ODE Architecture, Brian serves as Principal Designer. Through his career, he has led the design of desirable destinations across the built spectrum including a flagship grocer, a train station, a ballpark, multiple mixed-use downtown districts, hotels, high-rise multi-family buildings, simple townhouses, stacked housing, and affordable housing neighborhoods. Brian has guided award-winning mixed-use/income/tenure, neighborhood-scaled, transit-oriented development throughout the United States serving metropolitan New York City (Somerville, NJ; South Orange, NJ), Chicago (Lombard, Aurora, Vernon Hills, IL), Atlanta (Herndon Square, Oakland City) and Washington, DC (Columbia Heights, Petworth, DC; Potomac Yard, VA), and internationally in Istanbul, Turkiye. 

Brian is an author of Increments of Neighborhood a compendium of Built Types for Walkable and Vibrant Communities. He lectures on a range of topics for livable communities and sustainable development.  

Brian is a graduate of Yale University and the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  He began his career at Cesar Pelli and Associates, now Pelli, Clarke, Pelli and subsequently contributed to work at Weihe Design Partnership, now WDG, as well as David Schwarz Architects and Torti Gallas and Partners. Outside of the office, Brian enjoys running and spending time with his family
